German software company SAP SE is seeing big growth opportunities from China's e-commerce boom and its partnership with Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, said Mark Gibbs, presidentof the software giant's Greater China region, on Tuesday. Gibbs' comments came after SAP Greater China delivered a strong financial performance in thefirst quarter of 2016, defying the country's economic slowdown. As China beefs up efforts to upgrade its traditional industries with cutting-edge informationtechnology and tech-savvy manufacturing, SAP will see more robust growth here, Gibbs said. SAP partnered with Alibaba Cloud last month to help local businesses accelerate digitaltransformation. The two sides are working on HANA one, a lighter version of HANA, which isSAP's in-memory computing platform, and aims to create a one-stop-shop cloud-computingenvironment. "Instead of coming out with fancy statements, the tie with Alibaba Cloud is a long-timepartnership, and will be the next big growth engine for SAP," Gibbs said, adding the twocompanies will soon unveil a next-generation cloud-computing platform. In the first quarter of 2016, SAP's China branch recorded double-digit growth in its softwarerevenue and triple-digit growth in its cloud business. First-quarter operating profit for the company, headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, jumped 5percent from previous year to 1.104 million euros ($1.23 million) mostly due to a steady growth insales of its enterprise software, which helps manage business operations and customerrelations, and its cloud computing-related services. In China, more than 75 percent of the company's customers are small and medium-sizedenterprises, while more than 50 percent of China's leading State-owned firms are also using thecompany's service. "A lot o...

查看更多Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng said China is capable of putting its economic growth on afirmer footing although it didn't set up an exact growth target for foreign trade in the annualgovernment work report this year. China didn't hit its growth target in foreign trade last year due to sluggish global demand anddropping commodity prices, but the decline in China's export growth rate was far lower than thatof other major economies, Gao said. This is the fourth time that China set a trade growth target without giving a specific figure withinthe past 20 years. "In addition to weak global demand, other uncertainties, such as fluctuation of foreign currenciesand policy adjustment in major economies, have had an impact on both global trade and China'sforeign trade volume," the minister said. Gao said the dropping trade volume in the first two month of this year are mainly caused bycontinued weak global goods demand and the country's reduced trade activities during theweek-long Spring Festival holiday. China's foreign trade volume reached $3.96 trillion in 2015, down 8 percent year-on-year, and itsforeign trade in goods, export value and total online retail sales ranked first in the world. Thecountry's total retail sales and trade in services ranked second globally. about Us: Company:Meifeng Factory Supply portable wardrobe, metal hanger, shoe rack and other home furniture products. 查看更多The South China Sea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) were just two of a long list of topics covered by visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and US Secretary of State John Kerry when they met in Washington on Tuesday. Wang reiterated China's stance on the South China Sea, saying he and Kerry agreed to have further dialogue on the South China Sea to deepen mutual understanding. "In particular, it's important to prevent any miscalculation," he said at a joint press conference with Kerry after a hours-long bilateral talk. "The islands in the South China Sea have been China's territory since ancient times, and China has the right to safeguard its territorial sovereignty," Wang said. While Kerry expressed his concerns over the militarization in the South China Sea by some countries, Wang said China, the US and ASEAN countries have all committed to non-militarization. But he noted that non-militarization is not the responsibility of one party alone. "It's something that we share," he said. Turning a deaf ear to China's calls for honoring its promise not to take sides on the maritime disputes, the US has since last October sent warships and military jets to deliberately violate China's territorial waters in the South China Sea. China does not hope to see any more close-up military reconnaissance or the dispatch of missile destroyers or strategic bombers to the South China Sea, according to Wang, clearly a reference to the high-profile US military presence in the region. At the press conference, Kerry said that the United States has the so-called "freedom-of-navigation" right in the South China Sea. "In fact, there has never been such a problem with freedom of navigation in the South China Sea," Wang stressed. "The situation in the South China Sea is overall stable." While frictions are making headlines, Wang said that China and the US have far more common interests than areas of disagreement. Wang also revealed that the United Nations Security Council has made important progress in its consultation on a new resolution regarding the DPRK. "We are looking at the possibility of reaching agreement on the draft resolution and passing it in the near future," he said in a joint press conference after the talk. Wang said China and the US do not accept DPRK's nuclear missile program. "We do not recognize DPRK as a nuclear weapons state," Wang said. It was the third meeting for the two in a month. He said once the agreement was passed, it will effectively limit further progress of the DPRK's nuclear missile program. But Wang emphasized that the resolution cannot provide a fundamental solution to the Korean nuclear issue. Kerry agreed, saying "there is no question that if the resolution is approved, it will go beyond anything that we have previously passed." Wang and Kerry agreed that the goal is to go back to negotiation. Wang talked about China's new basic proposal of pursuing in parallel tracks the denuclearization of the Korea...
